Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented CT Technologist to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing computerized tomography images and assisting radiologists in diagnosing patient conditions. This position promotes a collaborative environment while ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.
Job Summary
As a CT Technologist, you will follow established protocols under the medical supervision of certified radiologists to ensure accurate imaging of designated anatomical areas. You will also supervise student radiologic technologists and maintain excellent customer relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Responsible for the care and safety of patients during imaging procedures. Efficiently perform procedures under the direction of radiologists while ensuring proper patient education and informed consent. (40%)
- Equipment Utilization: Ensure efficient use of imaging equipment to minimize repeat examinations. Practice cost containment with supplies. (20%)
- Patient Communication: Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures. Communicate effectively with family members regarding discharge instructions and actively respond to customer needs. (10%)
- Order Management: Ensure correct documentation of orders, diagnoses, and clinical history in the computer system. Maintain professional communication with radiologists. (10%)
- Policy Adherence: Follow departmental policies and safety procedures, practicing good radiation protection in accordance with established guidelines. (10%)
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other imaging team members and maintain departmental records. Display flexibility, accountability, and initiative towards improving operations. (10%)
Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving patients.
- Exposure to various conditions common in healthcare environments, including radiation and bodily fluids.
- May require work under stressful conditions and potential irregular hours, including weekend and holiday shifts.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals preferred, along with completion of an accredited Computed Tomography Program.
- Experience: One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Must be registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or possess a permanent certification in Radiography from the SCRQSA. ARRT registration in CT preferred. Current BLS for Healthcare Provider Card required.
