We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nursing team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in an Intensive Care Unit setting.

Job Description

This RN position requires collaborating with physicians to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health. The selected candidate will provide essential bedside nursing care and efficiently carry out medical orders while overseeing the duties of nursing support staff. Additionally, the RN will evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and ensure that nursing standards are upheld throughout the unit.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assume a leadership role in nursing care, including:
• Integrating evidence-based knowledge into nursing practice.
• Delegating and coordinating nursing tasks and assignments.
• Facilitating patient conferences to discuss care plans.
• Identifying ongoing and discharge/transfer education needs for patients.
• Engaging with resource persons and participating in discharge/transfer planning conferences.
• Pursuing professional growth through educational opportunities.
• Teaching and mentoring both professional and ancillary personnel.
• Precepting and mentoring new employees and nursing students.
• Leading team efforts to ensure proper patient placement and assignment delegation.
• Communicate pertinent information in a clear and effective manner.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills through effective planning and execution of responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience is required.
• Comfortable with floating to the Emergency Department and step-down units.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association), and NIHSS are mandatory.
• Additional certifications such as TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, and SCRN are preferred.
• Experience in travel nursing is preferred.
• Neurosurgical and open-heart experience is also preferred.

Scheduling Requirements

• 4 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts with a guaranteed 48 hours.
• Weekend availability required; at least 2 shifts from each workweek, every other weekend.

Additional Information

We have implemented a comprehensive attendance policy to ensure appropriate staffing coverage and support our patient population. All RN contractors must adhere to this policy, which includes regulations on tardiness and attendance. Exceptions for extenuating circumstances will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

This position will focus on delivering the highest quality of care while ensuring patient safety and comfort in a dynamic healthcare environment.
