Job Summary

The Echo Tech is responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound evaluations. This role includes communication of acute findings to the Cardiologist and routing studies for interpretation. The Echo Tech also obtains pertinent patient health history prior to examinations and prepares the procedure room and equipment for daily use.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac ultrasound evaluations.
• Communicate acute findings to the Cardiologist and route studies for interpretation.
• Obtain relevant patient health history prior to examinations.
• Prepare the procedure room and equipment efficiently between procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
• May assist in staff training and education initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• No prior experience is required unless otherwise specified by the Unit Leader.

Required Education

• Accredited Associate’s Degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field, OR
• Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS Certification required.
• One of the following certifications is required:
  • RDCS certified through ARDMS, OR
  • RCS, ACS, or RCCS certified through CCI.

Additional Information

Free parking is available for staff. The typical shift is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
