Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Infusion Registered Nurse to join our outpatient infusion services team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to adult patients with hematologic, oncologic, or other medical diagnoses. This position involves administering various infusions and treatments within a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
Schedule
- 10-hour shifts, 4 days a week
- Every 3rd Saturday requirement
- Note: The infusion room will be closed on specific holidays and dates
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, medical infusions, and blood transfusions to patients
- Utilize Alaris infusion pumps and CADD pumps for home infusion therapy
- Perform phlebotomy and start peripheral IVs
- Access and deaccess IVADs and manage PICC lines
- Ensure compliance with unit-specific procedures and protocols
- Participate in collaborative patient care and team-oriented activities
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with chemotherapy administration required
- Current ONS chemotherapy provider card and BLS certification from AHA required
- Prior travel experience preferred
- Proficient in using Epic electronic medical record system
- Ability to float to multiple locations based on staffing needs
Orientation and Training
New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation lasting one week. Required forms and competencies will be assigned prior to arrival to facilitate a smooth integration into the team.
Patient Care Statistics
The infusion center features 25 infusion chairs and sees 60-110 patients daily, depending on treatment duration. Each nurse will typically manage 2-3 infusion chairs during their shift.
