This position requires a shift of 4 days, with 10-hour workdays.
Position Overview
The qualified Operating Room/Surgery Registered Nurse will practice independently in a clinical setting, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of all relevant aspects of patient care. The role involves providing both routine and complex care and developing long-range goals or plans. The nurse will manage clinical contingencies effectively, making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers.
Responsibilities
- Meet expectations of applicable competencies, including leadership skills.
- Provide nursing care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, employing the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, according to the nurse's level of practice.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring patients for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care administered accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying opportunities for improvement and resources available.
Job Requirements
Education/Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- BLS certification via AHA is required.
- Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact state license is required.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with a work schedule of 4 days, totaling 10 hours per day.
