Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with a minimum of two years current large OR experience and prior travel assignment history for a fast-paced surgical unit.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• 8-hour day shift schedule, Monday through Friday starting at 0630
• 40 hours per week
• Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required

Requirements

• Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required
• BLS required through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• ACLS and PALS preferred if obtained through approved providers
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• Minimum two years current experience in a large OR required
• Must be able to scrub
• Must have successfully completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required, on-site training available
• Ortho, EENT, and/or vascular experience a plus

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
• Coordinate care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and standard protocols
• Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the episode of care
• Assume clinical supervision responsibilities for LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Complete population-specific and procedure-related education and competency testing per unit standards
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait one year before being eligible for consideration as a traveler
