Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Emergency Department

Assignment Details

Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks

Contract Dates: 10/19/2026 – 01/16/2027

Shift Details

  • 12-Hour Nights (7 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • 36 Hours per Week
  • Variable Days
  • Weekends and Holidays Required
  • No Block Scheduling

Important Notes

  • 50-Mile Radius Rule: No local candidates
  • No time off (RTO) permitted during the first 2 weeks of any new assignment
  • Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed for a 13-week contract
  • Unplanned Time Off (UTO) may lead to a contract cancellation if missed shifts are not made up to meet contract obligations

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience
  • Most recent 12 months must include one or more assignments at:
    • An academic institution (preferred), OR
    • A Level I or Level II Trauma Center in a major metropolitan area
  • Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience
  • Recent experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • Florida RN License or Compact RN License at the time of submission

Preferred Certifications

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Testing Requirements

All new RN hires must successfully complete:

  • Specialty-specific competency exam
  • EKG exam, including rhythm mapping and interpretation

Passing Requirements:

  • Minimum score of 80% on each exam
  • 100% identification of lethal rhythms is required regardless of overall EKG score
  • Candidates not meeting the EKG competency requirement will complete additional remedial training beyond Day Two of orientation. Review of cardiac rhythms prior to start is strongly recommended.
