Job Description

The registered nurse will provide care in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The role requires a solid foundation in nursing with a focus on critical patient needs, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in an IMCU setting, handling common diagnoses such as neurological, cardiac, trauma, respiratory conditions, and more.
• Monitor and support patients on chronic ventilators, as well as those requiring respiratory therapy assistance.
• Utilize specialty equipment including temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap machines, and other advanced technologies.
• Document patient care accurately using the EPIC Electronic Medical Record system.
• Participate in floating to other units as necessary.

Patient Demographics

The registered nurse will care for adult patients aged 18 and older in a 64-bed IMCU, with 15 designated neuro beds.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Current RN licenses including an active New York license.
• Up-to-date certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Complete skills checklist matching the specialty.
• Drivers license with a matching address to demographic information.
• Must include Reason for Time Off (RTO) at the time of submission.

Shift Information

The position requires working night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with block scheduling not guaranteed.

Scrub Color

Navy blue scrubs are required for this position.
