Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. This role involves providing care to acute inpatient populations as well as elective outpatient procedures. The cath lab operates under the premise of teamwork, collaborating with specialized physicians, registered clinical nurses, radiology technologists, and cardiovascular technologists to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients on examination tables following established protocols.
• Conduct continuous assessments of patient hemodynamics.
• Administer conscious sedation and maintain IV/IC infusion as needed.
• Monitor and alert physicians to any changes in patient responses.
• Assist physicians during interventional procedures.
• Manage patient recovery to Phase I post-procedure.

Shift Notes

This position offers flexibility with shifts either as 4 ten-hour days or 5 eight-hour days, which you can select at the time of offer. Weekend coverage is required every four weeks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in the Cath Lab.
• Experience with cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures is required.
• Moderate Sedation Certification is highly preferred.
• Experience in STEMI and STEMI call is required.
• Proficient in interpreting EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
• Experience with IV placement is required.
• Experience with electrophysiology (EP) is highly preferred.
• Traveler must have reliable transportation.

Orientation and Training

Non-billable orientation is for eight hours. All new and returning agency staff must complete training through either Welle or CPI for onboarding and compliance.

Dress Code

Staff are required to wear personal scrubs of any color, with no designs or cartoons and no hoodies permitted.

COVID vaccination is encouraged but not mandatory.
