Job Overview

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality imaging and patient care within the modalities of X-ray and computed tomography (CT). This role requires effective communication with patients regarding procedures and ensuring patient competency during examinations. The technologist will produce images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide quality imaging and exceptional patient care within X-ray and CT modalities.
• Explain procedures effectively to patients and confirm their understanding of the process.
• Produce images necessary for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
• Maintain compliance with protocols and safety standards.
• Possibly float to different facilities as required to meet operational needs.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM with required rotating weekends.
• Every other weekend is mandated.
• Guaranteed hours allow for one shift to be called off every two weeks.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: A minimum of 2 years in relevant experience in a clinical setting.
• Certifications:
  • Registered in Radiography (ARRT) and Computed Tomography (ARRT).
  • Current SCRQSA certification.
  • BLS certification required.
• Required Skills:
  • Experience with Adult Inpatient, Emergency, Siemens/PACS, and Epic.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in Level I/Level II Trauma, Pediatrics, and Orthopedic exams in both modalities is highly preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Agency must provide radiation badges; the facility does not supply these to travelers.
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies.
• Local candidates may be accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate.

Miscellaneous Information

• Scrub Color: Teal blue top, black bottoms.
• Charting System: Epic.
• Parking: A one-time payment of $20 for a parking pass is required for nights and weekends.

Recognize the importance of flexibility during hurricane season, as all staff may be assigned to emergency response roles when necessary.
