Pharmacist

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. This role involves medication order verification, managing floor stock, and providing patient consultations in preparation for surgical procedures.

Shift Details

  • Shift Type: Day/Evening
  • Shift Length: 8 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Weekends: Not required
  • On-Call: Not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify medication orders using the Epic system.
  • Manage and check floor stock and compounded sterile products.
  • Determine risk for venous thromboembolism (VTE) in high-risk patients.
  • Make phone calls to patients scheduled for surgery, 7-10 days prior to the procedure.

Equipment Utilized

  • Epic
  • MILT

Qualifications

  • Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a hospital pharmacy setting. 2-3 years is preferred.
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS Certification
    • ACLS Certification
    • PALS Certification

Training and Orientation

The orientation program will focus on Epic order verification, along with training on additional pharmacist responsibilities such as checking next-day prep medications for the operating room and supervising pharmacy technicians in filling floor stock and preparing anesthesia kits and trays.

Dress Code

  • Business casual attire or black scrubs.

Additional Information

This role does not require float to other units or departments. The pharmacy operates between 5:30 AM and 8:00 PM.
