Description
The Emergency Nurse provides critical care to patients facing urgent or life-threatening illnesses, along with those requiring immediate emergency treatment. This role encompasses the triage of patients based on their care needs, continuous assessment of their conditions, prompt interventions, and discharge education.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for patients in the Emergency Department across various populations, including prenatal, neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Triage patients accurately according to their medical needs.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and provide immediate intervention as required.
- Deliver effective discharge teaching to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Adapt communication and interaction styles to meet the individual intellectual levels and physical abilities of patients.
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) or Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training required.
This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality emergency care and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Every other weekend commitment is expected.
