Shift Notes
Schedule: Monday to Thursday; 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (32 hours per week, additional hours available through call).
Weekend Requirements: One weekend per month (Friday to Monday) and availability for holidays if needed.
On-Call Requirements: 10 shifts per month, including one weekend, with rotating holidays. On-call hours are from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM the following day, Monday through Thursday.
Job Description
The position involves providing high-quality nursing care in the Operating Room (OR) as a Circulating Nurse. The role includes assisting in various surgical procedures, maintaining patient safety, and collaborating with surgical teams. The surgical services include but are not limited to:
- Colonoscopy
- Upper GI Endoscopy
- Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder)
- Soft Tissue Mass Excision (Lipomas, cysts)
- Open and Laparoscopic Hernia Repairs
- Excisional Biopsies
- Hemorrhoid Procedures
- Oncologic Surgery for Breast or Colon Cancer
- Antireflux Surgery
- Skin Grafting
Additional Information
Requested time off during the course of this assignment must be noted and verified prior to submission. A maximum of five days of time off will be accepted.
Travelers may not take all holidays off and must work two holiday blocks if scheduled/needed:
- Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and the weekend thereafter
- Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the weekend thereafter
- New Year’s Eve through New Year’s Day and the weekend thereafter
Qualifications
- 2+ years of current OR experience in a hospital setting (Required)
- Strong experience as a Circulator with orthopedic procedures (Required)
- 3 months or more of travel experience (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Must have a personal vehicle for the assignment

- One Supervisory Signed Reference from the past two years of employment
- Active Vermont RN license or Compact
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification
