Description

Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience, particularly in medical-surgical settings focusing on oncology and surgical trauma. This position primarily involves caring for adults to geriatric patients, specifically post-surgical individuals and those experiencing overflow from stroke cases.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, including post-surgical and stroke overflow patients.
Administer wound care and dressing changes.
Manage Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and Partial Parenteral Nutrition (PPN).
Perform procedures involving NG tubes, CBI, Foley catheters, PICC lines, and ports.
Assist in pain management protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or related specialty.
Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale.
Experience with Epic electronic health record system is mandatory.

Work Environment

This role operates within a 16-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6. The shift is nocturnal, consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Weekend work is expected every other weekend unless otherwise specified.

Additional Information

Floating may be required within scope of practice as needed.
No call requirements.
Holiday work is required for major holidays, with expectations outlined clearly.
Compliance with all onboarding requirements is necessary to ensure timely start dates.
