Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience to provide exceptional care for adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical setting. The role involves working primarily with post-surgical patients, along with some stroke overflow cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes.
• Administer TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition) and PPN (Peripheral Parenteral Nutrition).
• Manage NG tubes and CBI (Continuous Bladder Irrigation).
• Insert and care for Foley catheters.
• Handle PICC lines and ports, and support pain management initiatives.

Work Environment

The nurse will work in an oncology and surgical trauma unit, with a patient ratio/census of 1:5-6 across 16 beds. Familiarity with unit systems such as Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR is required.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekends: Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified.
• Floating: May be required within the facility/scope of practice as necessary.
• Holidays: Expectation to work major holidays as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted.
• Current certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIH (National Institutes of Health).
• Experience in oncology and surgical trauma preferred.

Compliance and Orientation

Full compliance is required to start on time. Orientation hours vary based on contract length, with specific hours designated for each assignment duration.
