Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cath Lab Technologist to join our team. This role involves supporting a wide range of procedures within the Cardiovascular Lab, serving adult and geriatric patients. The responsibilities will include cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and peripheral vascular procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform various procedures including PCI/STEMI interventions, pacemaker placements, vascular procedures, line placements, and nephrostomy procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
• Assist with EKG lead placement and other necessary preparations for procedures.
• Float between units as needed to meet departmental needs.
• Participate in call rotation, including a full weekend commitment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Cath Lab experience required; community hospital experience preferred.
• Strong procedural experience in cardiac stent placement, left and right heart catheterization, and PCI/PTCA required.
• Experience with temporary pacemakers, angioplasty, embolization, stent placement, and thrombectomy is expected.
• Must possess strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Comfortable scrubbing for procedures.

Certifications

• ARRT or RCIS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Licensure

• An active Maryland state license is required for ARRT-certified professionals.
• No additional Maryland licensure is needed for RCIS-certified candidates.

Scheduling and Availability

• Shifts consist of 4x10-hour days from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Days off will rotate based on department needs.
• Travelers must be flexible with their scheduling; block schedules are not accommodated.
• Up to 14 days off can be pre-approved; however, no holiday time off is permitted.

Unit Information

This position is located within the Cardiovascular Lab, which focuses on delivering high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients. Orientation includes approximately 16 hours, with additional time as needed to ensure staff competency and comfort.

Charting System

Experience with McKesson is preferred.

Scrub Attire

Light blue scrubs will be provided for this position.
