We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. This position offers a guaranteed 36 hours per week and requires collaboration with physicians to develop and implement individualized care plans aimed at restoring patients to optimal health. Effective bedside nursing care and the execution of medical orders are essential components of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assume leadership responsibilities by integrating evidence-based knowledge into nursing practice.
• Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks and assignments.
• Facilitate and participate in patient conferences to discuss care plans.
• Identify patients’ ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs, coordinating with appropriate resources.
• Pursue professional growth through educational opportunities within the hospital or community.
• Teach and guide both professional and ancillary personnel.
• Precept and mentor new employees and students.
• Function as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and delegation of duties.

Communication and Organizational Skills:

• Communicate relevant information to patients and families in an understandable and effective manner.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and effective planning in nursing tasks.

Professional Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Required open heart experience.
• Comfortable with floating to Emergency Department and Step Down units.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Preferred certifications: TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, SCRN.
• Preferred travel experience.
• Preferred neuro-surgical experience.
• Active Michigan state nursing license.
