We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing a variety of ultrasound procedures, with a focus on transplants, dopplers, and renal artery stenosis.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and some vascular exams.
• Interact with patients and medical personnel to gather necessary information and explain procedures, ensuring patient comfort and understanding.
• Review charts and select appropriate equipment and transducers for the tests ordered.
• Assist physicians during sterile invasive procedures such as amniocenteses, cyst punctures, thoracenteses, and biopsies.
• Detect pathology and other factors while viewing the ultrasound screen, and determine appropriate images for diagnostic purposes.
• Record images on PACS and provide images on film and paper as required.
• Provide preliminary interpretations in a daily logbook and convey these interpretations to the requesting physician after discussion with the radiologist.
• Perform functions in areas outside the Ultrasound Suite, including operating rooms, intensive care units, emergency departments, and nursing floors using portable ultrasound equipment.
• Engage in shared duties with fellow sonographers as needed, ensuring all coverage requirements are met.
• Serve as a team resource for technical information, training, and guidance.
• Perform high-level disinfection of ultrasound intracavitary transducers using systems such as the Trophon EPR system, adhering to patient protection and infection control protocols.

Required Qualifications

• ARDMS certification is required.
• Experience in transplants, dopplers, and renal artery stenosis is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and medical personnel.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overnights from Thursday to Sunday.
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility.
