Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room will provide high-quality care and support during surgical procedures. The role requires expertise in various types of surgeries and a commitment to ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room and equipment.
• Perform circulating duties in the operating room for a variety of surgical procedures, including:
• Orthopedic
• Ophthalmology
• Podiatry
• Obstetrics/Gynecology
• General Surgery
• Endoscopy
• Provide immediate post-operative care to patients.
• Maintain communication with the surgical team and coordinate the necessary resources.
• Participate in call rotation, including weekends and evenings.

Shift Requirements

Full-time position with shifts scheduled Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM. On-call requirements include 1 weekend per month and 3-4 nights per week. Candidates must be willing to work during the Christmas holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current operating room experience is required.
• Circulating experience is mandatory; scrub experience is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in several surgical specialties, including orthopedic, general, endoscopy, sports medicine, gynecology, and C-sections.
• Previous experience with total joint procedures is required.
• Prior travel nursing experience is highly preferred.

Certification Requirements

• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Active American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Licensure

Valid nursing license in the state of New Hampshire is required. All licenses and certifications must be up-to-date at the time of application.

Additional Information

Travelers must reside over 50 miles from the facility. Permanent address must be included in the submission profile. Requests for time off (RTO) should be limited due to the critical staffing needs of the unit.
