Description

CORE JOB SUMMARY: The MRI Technologist 2 performs intricate procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) through the operations of radiographic equipment to obtain the highest quality of diagnostic images. Independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative are essential, along with responsibility for designated areas, procedures and equipment.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs diagnostic imaging examinations to assist physicians, radiologic technologists, and supervisors in finding abnormalities and making a proper diagnosis. Coordinates scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures. Assists radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast, if applicable. Evaluates MRI scans for technical quality, collates processed images in sequence of exposure, and appropriately labels/transmits to PACS. Provides assistance with orientation and training of new MRI technologists. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS: Certification and Licensing: Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer; ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality.
