Position: ICU RN
Schedule: 12-hour nights; every other weekend and every other holiday; no call
Experience: 2 years
Required: BLS and ACLS; active IL license; negative drug screen for all panels
EMR: EPIC
Unit: 8-bed ICU at 1:2, going to 1:3 depending on acuity and stepdown overflow; no telemetry on the unit
Duties: Care for sepsis, ARDS, acute renal failure, cardiac dysrhythmia, complex post-operative, overdose and behavioral-health-complex patients; central line and arterial line care, bedside bronchoscopy and AHA-guideline cardiac arrest response; titrate drips including Cardizem, propofol, amiodarone, norepinephrine and Precedex
Note: Hospitalists 24/7 with critical care physicians 7a-7p and RT in the ICU 24/7; floating to Med/Surg at Peru and Ottawa; solid-color scrubs or OSF attire; 2 orientation shifts plus 12 non-billable orientation hours
