Description

Position: CVOR Surgical Technologist
Schedule: Days and evenings - shifts are open, so the clinician's preference can be accommodated; one night of call per week and one weekend of call per month, 30-minute response
Experience: 2 years in cardiac, thoracic or vascular surgery; no new travelers or new clinicians, travel experience preferred
Required: BLS (AHA)
EMR: EPIC
Duties: Scrub cardiac cases including CABG, open and robotic valve repair and replacement, ECMO and transplant; thoracic cases including lung resection, VATS, open and robotic esophagostomy, POEM, hiatal hernia repair, mediport, EGD and GI and respiratory stents; and vascular cases including diagnostic angiography, percutaneous intervention, surgical endarterectomy, dialysis access management, open and endovascular AAA repair, visceral arterial repair and amputation
Note: Surgical techs do not cover sterile processing; onboarding is at Ruby Memorial for about a week before moving to Berkeley; may float within other Berkeley OR services; traveler is added to the holiday call rotation; ceil blue scrubs provided; 1 week of unit orientation; housing is available for call nights
