Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Level I Trauma experience and recent critical care background for a day shift position at a Magnet, teaching hospital in Washington State.
Details
- Works in a 500-bed Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital serving adult and pediatric patients across BPICU, SICU, MICU, and NSICU settings
- Patient population includes adult trauma, burns, medically and neurologically complex cases, trach patients, spinal cord injuries, and complex sleep-disordered breathing
- Busy ED with ECLS transfers; pediatric patient volume is generally small but present
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling available
- No on-call requirement
- No floating required
- Charting via Epic (required; hard stop)
Requirements
- RRT credential required
- Active Washington State RT license required (no pending license accepted); license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience, including Level I Trauma experience
- Critical care experience within the last 12 months required
- At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience
- Experience with adult ICU patients, trauma, and burns
- Proficiency in ventilator management, monitoring, O2 therapy, and care of complex adult patients
- BLS certification required
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required; open to training
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
- Prior UW facility staff must be separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO cannot be requested during orientation week; keep RTO to a minimum and no scheduling requests outside of approved RTO will be accommodated
- Any solid color scrubs are acceptable; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit
- Onsite parking is available at $15/day on weekdays and $4–$5 on evenings and weekends; offsite parking is available at $10/day with a 10-minute shuttle service (weekdays, 5 AM–10 PM only, approximately 1 mile from the facility)
