Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with trauma experience for a day shift position at a Level 2 trauma center and interventional stroke-certified facility in Columbus, GA.

Details

• Level 2 trauma center, interventional stroke-certified facility with a Level 3 NICU that also serves as a regional transport resource
• Primary adult RRT patient population ranging from infants to geriatrics, including pediatric intubated patients
• Performs non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests (spirometry), arterial line insertion, oxygen management, arterial blood gases (ABGs), capillary blood gases, and line draws
• EMR and unit systems include Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and to a sister campus as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Current GA RRT license required (license required if applicable)
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RRT experience
• Trauma experience required
• Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates are accepted
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Scrub color: Slate Gray
• RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted; the posted shift is firm
