Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a General Surgical Floor position caring for adult patients on a 28-bed unit with telemetry capability.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 28-bed general surgical floor with adult patient population
• Telemetry capability available on the unit
• Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:5-6
• Support staff includes PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
• 12-hour day shifts from 06:30 to 19:00
• Responsibilities include coordinating interdisciplinary care, implementing and monitoring patient plans, and managing discharge planning
• Requires critical thinking and the ability to work independently in a high-stress environment
• Personal protective equipment must be used according to Standard Precautions
• Two professional references and a copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Local candidates are eligible but will receive a reduced rate due to a facility radius rule
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this assignment

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
• Nursys license verification needed within 30 days prior to start
• Must have a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
