Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical night shift position requiring a current RN license and AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Work on a 22-bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in post-surgical care
Night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
Typical patient ratio is 1:4-5
13-week contract assignment
Care for patients recovering from surgery in a team-oriented environment
All positions follow a radius rule for local candidates which may affect pay
Covid vaccination is not required
Must submit two references and a copy of driver’s license for consideration
Only one assignment accepted system-wide at a time
Start discussions regarding contract extension 45 days before assignment end date

Requirements

Active RN license with primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg experience
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Nursys verification required prior to start
Candidates must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address

Pros

Low census so not many patients on the floor. Friendly staff.

Cons

Because it was low census I got floated to adult units to sit almost half of my shifts during the contract. They use an absolutely archaic EMR called sunrise. Horrible 10/10 would not recommend.
