Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Trauma ICU night shift position requiring 2 years of recent ICU experience and advanced critical care skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 24-bed Neuro Trauma ICU within a hospital setting
- Care for critically ill trauma, neurological, and surgical patients
- Patient population includes blunt and penetrating trauma, ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, aneurysms, brain tumors, seizures, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, and complex surgeries
- Utilizes advanced hemodynamic monitoring, massive transfusion protocols, intracranial pressure monitoring, brain tissue oxygenation, ventricular drains, and continuous dialysis
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1
- Night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Every other weekend required
- Sunrise (SCM) is the electronic health record system used
- Level 1 Trauma Center and Stroke Center of Excellence
- Wear royal blue scrubs
- Holiday and hard-to-fill shift coverage may be required
- Must provide a US Social Security Number and a permanent US address
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate, with the facility radius rule varying by state
- Only one submission to Ascension positions system wide is permitted
- Travelers should discuss potential extensions with their managers 45 days before assignment end date
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required
Requirements
- Active RN license (Nursys verification required 30 days before start)
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience required
- Ability to work in a high-acuity trauma setting
