Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position caring for a complex patient population and requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a 24-bed Intensive Care Unit
- Patient population includes medical, neuro, cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal, sepsis, trauma, and surgical cases (excluding fresh open heart surgery)
- Patient ratios are 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
- Night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30
- 13-week assignment
- Must only apply to one position within the health system at a time
- All positions are offered automatically upon meeting requirements
- Local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate per radius rule, which varies by state
- COVID vaccination is not required
- Candidates interested in extension should discuss with managers 45 days prior to assignment end
- Skills checklist and license documentation required for consideration
Requirements
- Active RN license (Nursys verification required within 30 days of start)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS (both must be AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale
- Must provide a valid US Social Security number and US home address (no international addresses accepted)
- Driver's license and two professional references required

Pros
Low census so not many patients on the floor. Friendly staff.
Cons
Because it was low census I got floated to adult units to sit almost half of my shifts during the contract. They use an absolutely archaic EMR called sunrise. Horrible 10/10 would not recommend.
