Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Renal/Diabetic unit position with weekend day shifts and a 1:6-8 patient ratio.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital setting on the Medical Surgical 6 West unit specializing in renal and diabetic patient care
- Unit consists of 23 beds
- Patient ratio is typically 1:6-8
- Weekend blocked day shift schedule from 06:45 to 19:15
- Position is part of a weekend block schedule
- Renal and diabetic patient population requires specialized care and monitoring
- May accept local candidates at a reduced pay rate based on facility radius rules
- Covid vaccination is not required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Holiday coverage expectations may apply
Requirements
- Active RN license with Nursys verification required prior to start
- Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg RN experience
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Submission of current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment
- All travelers must have a US Social Security Number and provide a US residential address

Low census so not many patients on the floor. Friendly staff.
Cons
Because it was low census I got floated to adult units to sit almost half of my shifts during the contract. They use an absolutely archaic EMR called sunrise. Horrible 10/10 would not recommend.
