Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Burn ICU position caring for both adult and pediatric burn trauma patients requiring advanced critical care skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a specialized Burn ICU with adult and pediatric burn trauma cases
- Patient population includes flame, scald, electrical, chemical burns, inhalation injuries, necrotic ischemia, and necrotizing fasciitis
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 for critical care, 1:1 for trauma code 1 admissions and high acuity/post-op patients
- Responsibilities include invasive hemodynamic monitoring, IV drip titration, ventilator management, CVVH, and conscious sedation
- Night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30
- Provide comprehensive care for adult and pediatric burn patients throughout the continuum of care
- Perform initial debridement, dressing changes, burn fluid resuscitation per Parkland formula, and epidural pump management
- Team uses a primary RN care model and works closely with surgeons and interdisciplinary support staff
- Dress code requirements for scrubs may apply per unit policy
- COVID vaccination is not required
- Local candidates are accepted but may be subject to a reduced pay rate based on facility radius rules
Requirements
- Active RN license, with current Nursys verification completed within 30 days prior to start
- Minimum of 2 years ICU experience
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (frequency of renewal based on group assignment)
- Must provide a valid US Social Security Number and home address (no international addresses)
