Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring a valid RN license and critical care experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is in an ICU unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Night shifts running from 19:00 to 07:30
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- Floating between ICU and Telemetry units is required
- Responsible for providing safe patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Directs patient and family teaching as well as activities of other nursing personnel
- Expected to communicate effectively with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and results of diagnostic studies
- Must be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient status
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
Requirements
- Active and valid state RN license
- Minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, specifically in critical care
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association or Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification preferred
- COVID vaccination and boosters preferred
