Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring a valid RN license and critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an ICU unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Night shifts running from 19:00 to 07:30
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Floating between ICU and Telemetry units is required
• Responsible for providing safe patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Directs patient and family teaching as well as activities of other nursing personnel
• Expected to communicate effectively with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and results of diagnostic studies
• Must be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient status
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Requirements

• Active and valid state RN license
• Minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, specifically in critical care
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association or Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification preferred
• COVID vaccination and boosters preferred
