Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a general nursing unit requiring a KS or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work on a combined Medical/Surgical general nursing unit in a hospital
• Unit includes a 28-bed general medical area and a 22-bed surgical area with diverse patient populations including cardiology, pulmonary, neurology, nephrology, surgery, orthopedics, urology, and ENT cases
• Night shift position from 18:30 to 07:00, with every other weekend required
• 36 hours per week on a 13-week contract assignment
• Staffing ratio goal is 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• 24-hour hospitalist coverage is provided
• Care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical needs including cardiology, pulmonary, neurology, nephrology, orthopedics, urology, and ENT
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• Travelers may be eligible if local, but local pay rates may apply based on radius rule
• Covid vaccination is no longer required
• First time travelers will be considered
• Dress code and scrub requirements are not specified

Requirements

• Active KS RN license or Compact Multistate RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year hospital RN experience
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Nursys verification and primary license source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• All candidates must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US address
