Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring prior NICU experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level III NICU with 22 beds and a 17-bed pediatric unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:3, adjusted for patient acuity
• Use of Drager CPAP and vent, HFOV, Jet, cooling, CFM monitor in the NICU, and vapotherm in the pediatric unit
• Administer vasopressors and sedation meds in NICU, and insulin titration per protocol in Peds
• Epic EMR is used and experience with Epic is required
• Floating required between NICU and Peds units
• Responsibilities include administering vasoactive drips and sedation medications, caring for high-acuity neonates, and performing cooling procedures
• Scrub attire includes black, navy, or Caribbean blue pants, with specified unit tops
• Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
• Limited to 1 day of requested time off between key holiday periods
• Supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Candidates living within 60 miles may be categorized as local for pay determination

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Not accepting first-time travelers
• Must be comfortable with floating between NICU and Peds units
• COVID vaccination required; medical/religious exemptions considered
