Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring travel contract experience and current IA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

Position is in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 45 beds and 2 operating rooms
Care provided for high risk OB, antepartum, c-sections, and vaginal deliveries
Patient ratio is 1:1-2 depending on acuity
Frequent use of magnesium, insulin, and pitocin drips
Epic EMR is used on this unit
May be required to float to Mother-Baby/Postpartum units
Required to work 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
Only one day off may be requested between 11/26-11/30 and 12/23-1/2 regardless of holidays worked
Main responsibilities include managing high risk OB cases and administering specialized drips
Returning travelers may not be eligible if employed within the past year
Specific scrub or dress code requirements will be communicated upon assignment

Requirements

Active Iowa or compact state RN license required
Minimum of 1.5 years current Labor & Delivery experience in a hospital setting
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP are required
Previous travel contract experience in Labor & Delivery is mandatory
Experience with Epic EMR is preferred
