Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for night shifts in a large Level 1 trauma setting, requiring strong neuro/crani and trauma skills.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Operating Room of a large Level 1 trauma hospital
- Work schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts from 6:45pm to 7:15am on a two-week repeating weekday night schedule
- No weekend or on-call responsibilities
- May float between 21 main OR rooms and 6 ambulatory ORs
- Cases include neuro/crani (must be capable of performing Burr hole procedures), trauma, ortho-trauma, spine, general (open belly), vascular, some ENT (thyroid), GYN, and GU/cystoscopy procedures
- Holiday coverage is required as part of the regular schedule
- No block scheduling is permitted for this assignment
- Strong performance on skills checklist is required for consideration
- Will work alongside a large surgical team in a fast-paced trauma operating environment
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience in a comparable large Level 1 trauma facility
- Prior travel experience in a Level 1 trauma environment required
- High proficiency in neuro, craniotomy, and trauma procedures
- Ability to perform Burr hole procedures independently
- Up-to-date certifications relevant to perioperative nursing
