Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of Level 1 Trauma and IR/Neuro IR experience to join a high-volume, academic medical center team.
Responsibilities
- Academic Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center setting
- Department has 10 interventional radiology rooms handling 46-50 cases per day
- Patient population includes stroke, complex neuro, cancer, tumors, blocked vessels, and body interventions
- Neuro cases include stroke, ruptures, subdural fistulas and other complex procedures
- Oncology services include liver and other cancer cases, as well as abscess drains
- 2 IR technologists per room for each procedure
- Utilizes Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging technology, as well as GE ultrasound
- Uses Epic Encompass EMR system
- Rotating shifts with options for 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts beginning at 8:00 AM
- On-call required one weekday (1600 until last case) and every 7th-8th weekend (Friday 1600 to Monday morning until last case completes)
- Scheduled to work 75% of holidays if assigned
- No floating required
- Responsibilities include scrubbing and assisting in procedures, equipment operation, and supporting fellow technologists in high-acuity cases
- Support team includes tech extenders, two techs per room, and dedicated neuro and body physicians
- Department provides up to 2 weeks of orientation based on previous experience and comfort level
- Comfort working with new graduates and supporting preceptorship as needed is expected
- Hospital-provided scrubs must be worn
- Free parking available
- First-time travelers are welcome for consideration
- Time off requests require manager approval
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in Interventional Radiology and/or Neuro IR at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- ARRT-R or RCIS certification required
- Current BLS required
- Proficient in scrubbing, assisting, and circulating in IR procedures
- Familiarity with Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging and GE ultrasound units
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- License required if applicable
