Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho Neuro unit with an IN or compact RN license and recent BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Work in a 16-bed Med/Surg Ortho Neuro unit within a hospital setting
Patient population includes orthopedic and neurological cases
Typical patient ratio is 1:6-8
Day shift position, working from 06:45 to 19:15
Local candidates may be considered but will receive a reduced rate due to facility radius rules
COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required
Travelers are encouraged to discuss contract extensions with their managers 45 days before end of assignment
All positions are auto offer
Two professional references and a copy of driver’s license are required for consideration
Holiday and weekend coverage may be required based on unit needs

Requirements

Active IN or compact RN license required
Current BLS certification from AHA required
Minimum of 1 year RN experience
Must provide Nursys license verification within 30 days prior to start
US Social Security Number and US home address required

Pros

Low census so not many patients on the floor. Friendly staff.

Cons

Because it was low census I got floated to adult units to sit almost half of my shifts during the contract. They use an absolutely archaic EMR called sunrise. Horrible 10/10 would not recommend.
