Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Iowa that requires Epic EMR experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

Position based in a Med/Surg unit with 24-26 beds, with census-based adjustments
Patient population includes general medical, gynecology, breast, ENT/OTO, and acute med/surg cases
Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4-6, Nights 1:5-6
Duties include post-op/surgical care, administering drips, and working with medications such as heparin
Uses Epic EMR system
Floating required across multiple campuses as needed
Expected to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving
Only 1 day off may be requested between 11/26-11/30 and 12/23-1/2
No first-time travelers will be considered for this position

Requirements

Active IA or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
Current BLS (AHA) certification required
Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg nursing experience
Experience with post-op/surgical care in general, gynecology, breast, and ENT/OTO cases required
Previous travel nursing experience required, having completed at least one travel contract in the past 12 months
Epic EMR experience required
Must provide at least one supervisory performance reference from within the past 2 years
