Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics night shift position requiring a CO or compact RN license and 1 year of specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based role on the acute Orthopedics unit
• Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week
• 13-week contract assignment
• Care for post-operative and orthopedic surgical patients
• Epic EMR used in the unit
• May be required to float to other departments within competency and qualifications
• On-call may be required during scheduled shifts
• Duties include independent and delegated nursing functions in accordance with state Board of Nursing standards
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for orthopedic patients
• Provide health teaching, counseling, and support for recovery and rehabilitation
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to monitor therapy and treatment plans
• Applicants should allow at least two weeks for background check and drug screening process
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• ASN or higher from an accredited School of Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Ortho experience required
• BLS certification from AHA required, must remain valid throughout assignment
• EPIC charting experience required
• Certification appropriate to the unit or service is preferred
