Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Trauma ICU position requiring an IN or compact license, 2 years of experience, and current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) of a Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center
- Focus on adult trauma, post-surgical, vascular, and neurosurgical patient management
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 with an 8-bed unit
- Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
- 13-week contract assignment
- Candidates may care for adult trauma, general surgery, vascular surgery, and neuro surgery cases
- Local candidates are accepted at a reduced pay rate per facility radius rules
- Specific radius distance varies by state and may affect pay eligibility
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required
- May only submit to one position within the system per cycle
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required and verified through Nursys
- Minimum of 2 years recent Trauma ICU or related critical care experience
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Current NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Must provide a US Social Security Number and a US home address

Low census so not many patients on the floor. Friendly staff.
Cons
Because it was low census I got floated to adult units to sit almost half of my shifts during the contract. They use an absolutely archaic EMR called sunrise. Horrible 10/10 would not recommend.
