Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Oncology position requiring a WY or compact RN license and strong med/surg skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a medical oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes oncology and hematology patients across all age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• 12-hour day shifts are required
• May be required to float to other nursing units based on staffing and patient needs
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for oncology patients, including medication and chemotherapy administration, patient assessment, and care planning
• Develop and revise care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families about conditions and treatment options
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe, compliant environment
• Strong team collaboration and communication skills are essential
• Must maintain all required continuing education and certifications for duration of assignment

Requirements

• Active Wyoming (WY) or compact state RN license required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current certifications as required by hospital policy, including BLS and others as applicable
• Medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
• Ability to administer chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification may be required)
• Demonstrated skills in patient assessment, care planning, and implementation
• Experience with electronic medical records and proficient computer skills
