Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of recent experience and a current LA state license for a day shift position.

Responsibilities

• Primarily outpatient physical therapy setting with occasional inpatient coverage
• Treats general orthopedic, neurologic, disability, and generalized weakness cases
• Approximately 10 patient visits per day
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Maroon, wine, or burgundy scrubs required
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during hurricane season with expectations to stay or provide relief coverage
• Uses EMR appropriate for therapy documentation (system not specified)
• Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of outpatient and occasional inpatient cases
• Participation in hurricane emergency preparedness may be required
• 5-day orientation provided with required modules completed during orientation hours
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff or in-house agency must have a 1-year separation before returning as travelers
• First-time travelers are accepted if all requirements are met

Requirements

• Current LA state PT license required (license required if applicable)
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of recent outpatient physical therapy experience
• Experience with general orthopedic, neurologic, disability, and generalized weakness cases required
• Candidates must reside at least 65 miles from the facility
• Must have Compact or LA license in hand or apply for Allied Health licensure within 72 hours of signing
