Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) night shift role requiring current PICU experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in a hospital setting
• Night shifts scheduled from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with 3x12 hour shifts per week
• May be required to float to the NICU, primarily caring for stable infants such as feeders and growers on oxygen or antibiotics
• No on-call responsibilities
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation may be required
• Uses Epic EMR system; experience with Epic is required
• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• Must be willing to float to the NICU and care for stable neonatal patients when needed
• Required to work 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
• Limit of one day request off between specified holiday timeframes
• Orientation consists of 16 hours of training
• Family-centered care is provided in a modern, private-room setting
• Travelers returning within 12 months of previous employment may not be eligible

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications required and must be current
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU nursing experience required
• Critical care experience is strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
