Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at a Level 1 trauma, academic hospital requiring a NC or compact RN license and experience with adult and pediatric populations.

Responsibilities

Work in a PACU unit within a large academic medical center with 18 beds
Patient population includes both adult and pediatric patients from all specialties
Patient census averages approximately 100 per day
RN-to-patient ratios are 1:1 or 2:1 depending on acuity
No CNA support is provided in the department
Utilizes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips/GE monitors
No floating is required
Schedules follow an 8-week cycle and the unit is open 24/7
Rotational on-call and weekend shifts are required, with details discussed during the interview
Holiday shift coverage is expected
Team includes a unit secretary, charge nurse, anesthesia/CRNA, and respiratory therapy support
New employee orientation consists of hospital orientation and 2 days of departmental training
Jade green scrubs are provided by the hospital
Free employee parking is available
Time off requests require manager approval
First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

Active NC or compact RN license required
Minimum 1 year of critical care nursing experience
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS (Resource Team Requirement)
Recent experience in PACU or critical care setting within the past year
