Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit focusing on orthopedics, total joint replacements, and floating across multiple campuses.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 34-bed Med/Surg unit specializing in orthopedics and total joint replacements
• Patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Certain cardiac drips may be administered
• Float required across all campuses, including Iowa Methodist and Iowa Lutheran
• Epic EMR is used in this setting
• Scrub color requirement is solid navy blue
• Responsibilities include caring for orthopedic patients and those undergoing total joint replacements
• Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, or Thanksgiving)
• Only 1 day off may be requested between 11/26-11/30 and 12/23-1/2
• Locals within 50 miles are accepted
• Solid navy blue scrubs are required for all shifts

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting required
• Ortho/Rehab experience, including with total joints and braces, is encouraged
• One supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required
• First-time travelers are accepted
