Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Circulator for an Operating Room position in a peri-operative setting, requiring a current AK RN license and at least two years of OR nursing experience.

Responsibilities

Work in the Surgical Services/Operating Room of a hospital setting
Serve as a Circulating RN responsible for all peri-operative patient age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adults
Typical shifts include Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, 3x12 hour (7am-7:30pm), or nights (7pm-7:30am) with on-call night shifts
No floating to other units required
Unit has 20 rooms with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
Uses computerized charting with Meditech
Facility-provided scrubs are required for dress code
Deliver and coordinate peri-operative care using the nursing process for a broad age range of patients
Coordinate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, pre- and post-op nurses, and surgical techs
May be asked to train or mentor other nurses in the OR
On-call responsibilities are part of the required schedule

Requirements

Active AK RN license
Graduation from an accredited nursing program
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
At least two years of recent OR circulating RN experience
Moderate sedation and PACU experience highly preferred
