Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg-Oncology position requiring an active IN or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 16-bed Oncology Unit handling oncology, hematology, end-of-life, hospice, and Med/Surg overflow patients
- Night shift hours are 18:45 to 07:15
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- Patient care includes assessment, intervention, medication administration, and documentation in EHR
- Patients may include those receiving oncology, hematology, hospice, and overflow Med/Surg care
- All travelers must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address
- Local candidates are accepted but will be paid at a reduced rate according to the facility's radius rule
- COVID vaccination is not required
- Travelers may only hold one position within the system at a time
- Proper documentation including references and license verification must be provided before assignment
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification from AHA required
- At least 1 year of relevant RN experience
- Nursys verification and primary source license verification required prior to start

Pros
Low census so not many patients on the floor. Friendly staff.
Cons
Because it was low census I got floated to adult units to sit almost half of my shifts during the contract. They use an absolutely archaic EMR called sunrise. Horrible 10/10 would not recommend.
