Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU role requiring a NH or compact RN license and a minimum of 3 years current PACU experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a hospital
• Handles both pre-op and post-op patient care
• One 12-hour on-call shift is required per week
• Critical access or rural hospital experience is strongly preferred
• Arterial line management is required
• Uses Epic for electronic charting
• Same day discharge experience is preferred
• Must be available to work two major holidays from the following: Thanksgiving (and following Friday/weekend), Christmas Eve/Day (and following Friday/weekend), or New Year's Eve/Day (and following Friday/weekend)
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• A maximum of five days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed and must be included at the time of application
• First time travelers are not specified, but travel experience is strongly encouraged
• Profile must include a permanent address for eligibility verification
• Scrub color or dress code requirements are not specified

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 3 years recent PACU RN experience required
• Experience in both pre-op and post-op care required
• Experience with arterial lines is required
• Experience with Epic EMR is required
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• PALS certification is preferred
• Must have at least 6 months of prior travel RN experience (strongly encouraged)
• Travelers must have their own vehicle for transportation
• Applicants residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
