Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Cardiovascular ICU position requiring critical care background and Indiana or compact RN licensure.
Responsibilities
- Work in an 8-bed Cardiovascular ICU in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
- Patient ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3
- Care for post-surgical cardiothoracic, vascular, thoracotomy, TAVR, and complex PCI intervention patients
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Edwards and GE monitors, SWAN Ganz catheters, and manage post-open heart and post-cardiac procedures
- Central line, arterial line, and chest tube placements are performed
- All candidates must have a valid US Social Security Number and US home address
- Local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate due to a radius rule
- Detailed references, license verification, and copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration
- Covid vaccination is no longer required
- Scrubs or dress code details have not been specified
Requirements
- Active Indiana or compact state RN license in hand
- Minimum 2 years of critical care and cardiac critical care experience required
- Experience with open heart recovery and post cardiac procedure recovery required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- NIH Certification preferred or required per group assignment

Pros
Low census so not many patients on the floor. Friendly staff.
Cons
Because it was low census I got floated to adult units to sit almost half of my shifts during the contract. They use an absolutely archaic EMR called sunrise. Horrible 10/10 would not recommend.
