Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma setting with cardiac, robotics, and trauma case experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of a Level I trauma center across multiple campuses
• Primary patient population includes cardiac, general, pediatric, and trauma cases
• Average daily caseload is 35-50 cases with 16 OR suites; typically, 12-14 run routinely
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Specialized equipment includes 3 DaVinci robots, Stealth neuro navigation, Synthes/Stryker for ortho trauma
• Required to scrub and circulate
• Weekend call required from end of shift Friday until 0630 Monday
• Floating required across multiple hospital campuses
• Epic EMR is used and experience within the last 3 years is required
• Hospital provides scrubs
• Daily responsibilities include preparing and assisting in a wide range of surgical procedures, including complex cardiac and trauma cases
• Expect quick turnovers with a standard of less than 20 minutes
• Opportunity to work with an advanced surgical team using leading-edge technology
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital

Requirements

• Active Iowa or Compact RN license required at time of consideration or proof of application
• BLS (AHA) certification required and must be current
• Minimum 2 years of recent operating room RN experience required
• Proficiency required in general, robotics, pediatric, and trauma cases with additional experience in neuro, ortho trauma, gyn, uro, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular preferred
• Recent Level I trauma center operating room experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 3 years is required
• Candidates must be able to both scrub and circulate
